OVERVIEW
A media society for art, culture, and Urdu expression
Kaarawan-e-Ghalib is a media society focused on promoting art, culture, and Urdu literature through theatre, poetry, and curated cultural experiences.
However, the brand lacked a cohesive visual identity — resulting in fragmented communication across events, social media, and print materials. This made it difficult to establish recognition, consistency, and a strong cultural presence.
APPROACH
Balancing cultural depth with modern clarity
The solution was built on restraint and intention.
Instead of relying on heavy traditional motifs, the design focuses on a minimal visual language infused with cultural cues. A deep black and gold palette reflects heritage, elegance, and timelessness.
Typography and layout were treated as primary tools, structured, clean, and deliberate, allowing content such as poetry, performances, and events to remain central.
The goal was to create a system that feels refined, scalable, and culturally grounded.
LOGO & IDENTITY
A mark shaped by language and culture
The logo is designed by merging the initials of Kaarawan-e-Ghalib - combining the Urdu letters Kaaf (ک) and Ghain (غ) with their English counterparts K and Gh.
This fusion creates a distinctive mark that reflects both cultural heritage and contemporary expression, bridging traditional Urdu script with modern typography.
The resulting form is minimal, balanced, and versatile, allowing it to work seamlessly across digital and physical applications.
A restrained use of gold adds a sense of richness and legacy, while the overall system maintains clarity and scalability.
